Student policies

Attendance: at least 80% of contact hours is needed for a certificate. Missed sessions may be made up at the Academic Director's discretion, or deferred to a later intake.

Assessment: every certificate requires the assessments for that level to be passed. Misrepresenting qualifications or academic dishonesty may lead to dismissal without refund.

Inclusion: AYA welcomes students of all backgrounds and makes reasonable accommodations; please tell us before enrolment.

Grievances: raise concerns first with the teacher, then in writing to the Academic Director at enquiry@ancientyogaacademy.com. We acknowledge within 5 business days and review within 30 days. Unresolved yoga therapy matters may be referred to IAYT.

Refunds and cancellations

Our policy in short: AYA does not generally give cash refunds. Instead, what you have paid can be adjusted towards another AYA workshop, course or product, so nothing you have paid is lost.

Live courses, workshops and modules: no refund. If you cannot attend, tell us before the start and we move your fee to a later intake or another AYA course or workshop of your choice, within 12 months.

On-demand courses and digital products: no refund once access has been given, because the full content opens straight away. If you bought the wrong course, write to us within 7 days and we can move your payment to another AYA course.

Singing bowls and products: no refund. You approve each bowl from its strike video before it ships. If an item arrives damaged or faulty, report it within 7 days of delivery with photos and we replace it or give you AYA credit.

Sessions: reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before. Later changes and missed sessions are charged in full.

If AYA cancels a course, workshop, event or session, you choose a full refund or a transfer.

Organisations and partners: as set out in your signed agreement.

Code of ethics

AYA adopts the IAYT Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice. Faculty and graduates represent their qualifications truthfully, do not misrepresent outcomes, keep professional boundaries, and refer to licensed healthcare professionals when appropriate.

Sound healing at AYA promotes health and wellbeing; it is not the diagnosis or medical treatment of disease. Breaches may be reported to the Academic Director, or to IAYT.

Privacy and PDPA

We collect only what we need to provide sessions, courses and orders, and handle it under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Health information from safety checks is seen only by AYA and your practitioner.

You may ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time: enquiry@ancientyogaacademy.com. Full policy: ancientyogaacademy.com/privacy-policy.

Health disclaimer

Sound healing is complementary care. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any disease and does not replace medical or mental health care. Always follow your doctor's advice and tell your practitioner about any health condition.

Photography and filming

Photos and video may be taken at AYA events and classes and used to promote AYA. Tell the teacher at the start if you prefer not to appear.
